Regulating the Freedom of the Press: a report
"Undeniably, the fact that journalism is operating in a capitalist context plays an important role in structuring the relationships between the various actors involved."

"When thinking about how to preserve the democratic role of journalism today and in the future it is important to pay attention to the specific context in which these issues take form. Undeniably, the fact that journalism is operating in a capitalist context plays an important role in structuring the relationships between the various actors involved. This comes with a prize, as many of the issues addressed show, e.g. in terms of governments with their own interest, or commercial motivations overtaking journalistic principles. The context can further differ from country to country. There are different cultures of morality, different ways in which our democracies are organized."
